Ex-NDC Executive Hails Kennedy Agyapong For Attacking NPP

A former executive of the Tema East constituency branch of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Stephen Ashitey Adjei, is raining cheers on the New Patriotic Party’s Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, following Mr. Agyapong’s successful organization of the first of many showdowns walk that he has promised to hold.

In a social media post, Mr. Ashitey Adjei, who is popularly called Moshake, gleefully urges Ken Agyapong on saying he enjoys it very much that the firebrand NPP man has now turned on his own party’s government and condemning it.

“Mr. Agyapong gives me a lot of hope that my party the NDC can indeed win the 2024 elections without having to work too much because he himself and his followers are doing all the dirty work for us,” Moshake wrote.

Continuing, he congratulated Ken Agyapong for “seeing the light” and urged him to continue, “releasing the bombs that will discredit the government from within.”

Moshake’s happiness comes after Mr. Agyapong held the first of showdowns walk that he promised against President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia after he lost the NPP’s super delegates conference to Dr. Bawumia massively.

The showdown which was held in Accra happened in the form of a rally where Mr. Agyapong pulled hundreds of NPP faithful and attacked his own party’s government.

Among others, he disparaged Vice President Bawumia whom he said was going about in the Northern regions asking to be voted for simply because he is a Northerner.

According to Ken Agyapong, Dr. Bawumia should not be taken seriously because in the 7 years that he has been in government, he has not built a single factory in the North.

Mr. Agyapong also indirectly accused Dr. Bawumia of using heavy bribes to influence the vote during the super delegates conference and warned that the Bawumia camp is thinking of using more dirty bribes to buy votes in the NPP’s upcoming conference to elect flagbearer.

He warned polling station executives not to accept the bribes and vote for Bawumia  because according to him, if they do, they will be neglected after Bawumia has won until the next election.

This same Bawumia, he said, will lose against John Mahama if he is elected because Ghanaians made up their minds to vote out the NPP in 2022.

Mr. Agyapong also revealed that NPP party members are forced to pay Ghc10,000 in order to secure police recruitment for their children.

According to the MP, he will fight all of these things and that on 30th September, another showdown will be organized in Kumasi.

“At the rate that Ken Agyapong is releasing the bombs, the NDC will not suffer at all to paint the Bawumia and Akufo-Addo government as corrupt,” Moshake wrote.

He thanked Ken Agyapong for, “the own goals he is scoring against his own party’s government” and encouraged him to release more.

Meanwhile, Moshake has also called on the NDC to approach Kennedy Agyapong and offer him help with his campaign.

“November 4 is just a little over a month away, if we are smart, we should be able to help prop Mr. Agyapong’s campaign with some cash and then use him to push NPP into opposition, if it were to be NDC, Kennedy Agyapong would have been dragged to the party’s National Disciplinary Committee for anti-party behaviour under article 46 of the NDC Constitution”. Moshake wrote.
