    Ghana Army Handball Team Under Coach Bonney

    WO1 Albert Bonney has been coaching the Ghana Army Handball Team for the past 8 years, past decade has been marked by stellar achievements and consistent excellence with remarkable performances, from individual accolades to team triumphs.

    The narrative begins in 2018 when Amanfi Gilbert was crowned Best Right Winger and Raphael Hagan as best goalkeeper in the men's category at the end of the league season.

    The following year, the Ghana Gas Handball League witnessed a surge in competition, with Ghana Army claiming from their previous 5th position to 2 position showcasing their growing dominance. Individual brilliance shone through with players like Seth Botchway excelling as the Best Left Back, while Ako Ernestina emerged as the Top Goal scorer.

    In 2022, and the Ghana Army Men's team continued their impressive run, clinching the 2nd position once again, a testament to their sustained excellence under Coach Bonny's mentorship. Amanfi Gilbert's consistent performance earned him yet another Best Right Winger title, alongside Raphael Hagan Marshal as the Best Goalkeeper, and Botchway Seth as the Best Left Back.

    The women's team also left their mark in 2022, with Dzegu Akos shining as the Best Left Wing. The discovery of promising talent in Adorshie Antoinette further solidified the Army team.

    As the years progressed, Coach Bonney's strategic guidance propelled the Ghana Army Handball teams to greater heights, culminating in their triumph as GAHA League winners and GHALCA Championship Cup winners in 2023.

    Individual brilliance continued with Seidu Bintu emerging as the IHF Zone 3 Challenge Trophy's Top Goal Scorer in the Under 20 Division.

    Coach Bonny's unwavering dedication and tactical strategies have not only transformed individual players into stars but also earned the Army a mark in the Greater Accra Handball League. 

    A tough season being anticipated ahead of the 2024 league, Coach Bonney and his team have played two friendlies against civilian side Cantonment Youth and have won all the matches.
