Ghana Rugby Football Union Calls on Ghanaians to Join the Rugby Movement

The Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) is extending an open invitation to individuals across the nation to get involved in Rugby Union as the sport continues to grow rapidly across the country.

From students and athletes to coaches, administrators, and sports enthusiasts, the GRFU is encouraging Ghanaians from all walks of life to seize the opportunity to be part of the dynamic and fast-evolving world of rugby.

With a focus on grassroots development and regional empowerment, Rugby Union is becoming a powerful platform for personal development, leadership, and national unity.

The GRFU has strengthened its presence through active regional associations in Greater Accra, Central, Northern, Eastern, Volta, Upper East, and Savannah regions.

Each region is led by dedicated coordinators who are committed to nurturing talent and spreading the values of rugby: discipline, teamwork, integrity, and respect.

“Rugby builds more than athletes — it builds communities and future leaders. We are calling on Ghanaians to join us, whether you want to play, coach, volunteer, or support. There’s a place for everyone in rugby,” said a spokesperson from the Union.

The call to action comes as part of a nationwide initiative to expand access to the sport, provide mentorship and opportunities for youth, and prepare for greater national and continental participation in competitions and development programs.

Interested individuals can contact their respective regional representatives to learn more and get involved in upcoming programs and events.
