Ashantigold’s new head coach, Ernest Thompson Quartey has said he wants a top four finish at the end of the upcoming Ghana Premier League with the Miners.
Quartey joined the Obuasi-based club on a two-year deal.and said if all goes well, not only will he be counted among the top four clubs but win the season.
Speaking to class Sports, he said: “My target is to ensure that we’re in the top bracket, that is, top four at the end of the league and if possible be winners of the league this time round…
“We’ve all the facilities, the players and if we should get our act right and everything going, I believe our performance will also be very good like we want it. The target is top four, qualify for any of the African championships and we’re good to go and I believe we have what it takes and if we push a little and like I said get everything right, we can actually meet the target we’ve set for ourselves,” he stated.
In order to achieve his target, coach Quartey noted that: “I don’t want to do too many changes because the team is already in place so maybe one or two additions and maybe some right changes to suit my philosophy and systems and techniques I’m coming on board with.”
