Policy analyst, Franklin Cudjoe, has teased opponents of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) acting Chairman, Freddie Blay, after he procured 275 buses for the party.
After taking delivery of the buses at the Tema Port on Wednesday, spokesperson of the NPP chairman, Mr Nyamah said, the arrival of the vehicles is in fulfilment of Freddie Blay’s campaign pledge of putting the party on a sound financial footing.
“Freddie Blay is not a man of straw! He promised and he has delivered, that is the kind of politician he is,” Mr Nyamah said, adding that, the move would help raise funds to steer the affairs of the party.
Mr. Blay who is a leading contender in the NPP’s national chairmanship race to be held in Koforidua this weekend per documents spent a whopping $11, 412, 500.00 – an equivalent of GHc52,846,171.65 – to secure the buses for the party.
But Franklin Cudjoe chose to offer sarcastic response to the other aspirants and party members who have accused Mr Blay of vote buying.
He posted on his facebook page: “Chairman of the ruling political party in Ghana is a very charitable man. He just bought 275 buses for his party ahead of elections on Saturday. His main opponent sees this as vote buying tactics. But the Chairman says his opponent should appreciate God’s bountiful blessings for the Lord is good.
“By the way, no one knows where the Chairman got the money from except to suggest it is a loan arrangement. Isn’t Chairman the board chair of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation? He is a very hard working and God-fearing man.
“The Lord is good indeed. Praise him praise him. You sit there and shout AMEN. Your life savings will stagnate saaasa”.
