Shatta Wale embarrasses himself during a BBC freestyle
Dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, finds himself in the firing line following an awful freestyle he delivered on BBC Radio 1.
The “Gringo” hitmaker was in the UK over the weekend to stage a show as part of his ‘Reign’ album tour.
On Friday, Shatta Wale had a totally sold-out concert, as his London fans filled the Indigo at the O2.
The SM boss thrilled the fans with back-to-back hits for five straight hours, together with the SM Militants.
Until now, his concert was the trending topic before the video of his freestyle on the BBC Radio 1 popped up on social media. Delivering a freestyle without any beat, Shatta Wale was totally off with poor lyrics; a show that surprised many people.
The Zylofon Media signee has since been ridiculed and trolled after clips of the said freestyle went viral on social media.
“Hahaha hahahaha hah…. He almost sung borborliborbor,” one Facebook user cheekily said.
“The freestyle was whack. I’m.not disputing that. Shatta’s last song he dropped was whack. However, he is not an overall whack artist,” another noted.
A third person said: “The voice in the free style sounds like the judgement Day trumpet” One other guy said: “What you dey expect? There was a “Smokers Not Allowed” sign at the entrance of the studio…He didn’t puff before the show.”
