Afeku should have been sacked from gov’t – Ebo Quansah
Veteran journalist Ebo Quansah has said former Tourism minister Catherine Afeku should have been sacked from government by President Akufo-Addo.
He said he does not know what the former minister has been doing in government to merit a reassignment by the President.
President Akufo-Addo reassigned Mrs Afeku to the office of the Senior Minister at the Presidency in his maiden reshuffle in government.
Mrs. Afeku who is also a lawmaker has been instrumental in the organisation of the Year of return event and also brought some key american celebrities with African ancestory to Ghana in December 2018.
Speaking to Bola Ray on Starr Chat, the general manager of the Chronicle Newspaper said the President can run a lean government by merging some of the ministries.
“Afeku should have been sacked I don’t know why she was giving another position, I don’t know what she has been doing. I also think some of the ministries could be merged. For instance Communication and Information ministries could be merged and some others too,” he said.
He also singled out now Energy minister Peter Amewu for his role in the fight against illegal mining popularly known as galamsey.
