‘Ailing’ Bukom Banku granted bail
Braimah Kamako popularly known as Bukom Banku has been granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court in the sum of GH¢30,000 for assault and causing unlawful damage to properties.
Counsel for the popular boxer, Nii Quaye Myres, said his client is indisposed and produced documents to that effect.
The lawyer, who according to reports is also sick, told the court that he informed the investigator in the case about their inability to attend court on the previous court dates.
The court has thus granted the boxer bail with two sureties.
In addition, the court has asked the investigator to take passport size picture of the accused as well as photocopies of the sureties’ Identity cards.
Bukom Banku has however pleaded not guilty to charges of assault, causing harm to two persons and causing unlawful damage.
He is to reappear in court on June 21, 2018.
The other accused in the case, were not in court as well as the complainants.
Popular Ghanaian boxer, Brimah ‘Bukom Banku’ Kamoko was arrested for assaulting an Assemblyman on April 2.
The cruiserweight boxer was accused of assaulting government official during an ‘Easter Monday Party’ in James Town.
Following the assault, the Assemblyman whose name was given as Zaid lodged a complaint at the James Town Police Station on Tuesday.
The Station Officer at James Town Police Station dispatched his boys to Bukom and the tough-talking boxer was arrested.
