Ghanaian creative arts aficionado, Mark Okraku Mantey, has been nominated by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the position of Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
He will assist sector minister Awal Mohammed if approved by Parliament’s Appointments Committee.
Mr Mantey is expected to bring to the table his vast experience and knowledge in the music business, media, film industry, events production and their policy-related matters.
Mr Okraku Mantey is one of the creative arts industry players who has openly declared his support for Nana Akufo-Addo and the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In 2017, the NPP rewarded him with an appointment as the President of the Creative Arts Council, an agency that ensured the passage of the Creative Arts Bill.
The popular music producer and CEO of Slip Music is also the Head of Programmes at Hitz FM.
Aside from working on music productions with musicians such as Oheneba Kissi, Lord Kenya, Daasebre Gyamena, Adane Best, Akyeame, Okuraseni Samuel, Bless, and Kumi Guitar since 1996, he has also been involved in television production and events.
