Akufo-Addo, Bawumia, others get vaccinated against Covid-19

President Akufo-Addo together with First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife, Samira Bawumia today received the first dose of the 600,000 Covid-19 vaccines that arrived in the country on Wednesday.

The exercise, according to authorities, is aimed at boosting public confidence in the new vaccine procured for the citizens.

While the President took his vaccine jab at the 37 Military Hospital, the Vice President Dr. Bawumia and his wife and Interior Minister, Ambrose Derry and high profile government officials were vaccinated at the Police Hospital.

Memebers of the legislature, judiciary and the executive are expected to receive the jab on Tuesday before it is fully rolled out to frontline workers and the security agenecies.
