Akufo-Addo opens mega mall in volta region
The people of Anloga in the Keta Municipality have received a share of the national cake with the opening of mega mall by President Akufo-Addo.
The shopping centre which was built with an Urban Development Grant has 26 stores, two banking halls, six offices and a cafeteria.
In the President’s bid to complete projects by past administration set out to commission the facility which began in 2015 and was completed in 2017; while on a three-day working visit in the volta region.
He used the opportunity to also open a 100-bed Major Courage Quashigah Hostel for the Keta Nursing and Midwifery Training School.
He assured them of an increase in enrollment of on the free Senior High School policy, this academic year.
He added that, the education sector seeks increase the enrolment to about 180,000, which is twice, of last year’s total.
President Akufo-Addo stressed government’s determination to construct a harbour at Kedzi and called for the support of all.
He also touched on the importance of the National Identification exercise and said it was critical to the country’s rapid socio-economic development.
He therefore asked the citizenry to support the project, by making sure that they registered for the Ghana Card, government was not interested in sidelining anybody with the project.
He is also expected to inspect portions of the Eastern Corridor road project between Hohoe and Jasikan, and cut sod for an irrigation project at Torgome in the Ketu North Municipality.
