Outspoken NDC executive, Solomon Nkansah, has stated that current President of the republic, Nana Akuffo, is not putting medical facilities put up by his predecessor to use.
In an interview on Adom TV, the Director of Communication for the NDC, hinted that the previous government established a lot of health facilities, including the University of Ghana Medical Centre.
“When Nana Addo came to power, he locked up all these facilities and put the keys in his pocket”, he said.
“Go to Ofanko, Legon, Afari… all in the Ashanti Region”, he further added.
According to him, one of the main aims of the previous government was to improve on the quality of healthcare in the country.
He buttressed this point stating that, during the Atta Mills led-administration, when the MRI was introduced at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, it helped reduced the rate at which Ghanaians went abroad to get medical attention.
He further stated that the Akufo-Addo government has drastically reduced the number of nurses that were recruited at Korle-Bu from 500 to 85.
Raising teacher training colleges to university status is a ploy by the present government to cut the allowance of trainee teachers, Solomon Nkansah asserted.
