Akufo-Addo’s walking stick causes stir on social media
Social media is awash with comments threads after a photo of President Akufo-Addo walking with a stick popped up.
The photo which was reportedly taken during his two-day tour of the Upper West Region has since gone viral.
However, reports indicate that the walking stick was given to him as a gift during his tour of the region.
President Akufo-Addo, as part of his visit, paid a courtesy call on the Ullo Naa, Alhaji Baburonon Amadu Seidu II and commissioned infrastructural projects at the Ullo Senior High School.
A durbar was also organised in his honour on the last day of his tour, where he interacted with chiefs and queen mothers from Jirapa, Sissala East, Sissala West, Nadowli/Kaleo, Daffiama-Bussie-Issah and Wa East.
But, despite the many things the President did on his two-day tour, the new walking stick appears to be the sole episode that caught the eyes of many Ghanaians.
Despite the hundreds of comments flooding the internet over photos of Nana Addo holding the special walking stick, a section of social media users have rained praise on him for what they termed as showmanship.
One Facebook user said: “Oluman and look at the way he is pacing off…the young men are struggling to catch up with him sef,”
Another said: “He’s ‘taking over and he’s showing guy guy.”
And a third person added: “Strong smart man…papa gye wo two.”
