Maverick politician, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has alleged that investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas masterminded the killing of two Chinese nationals after blackmailing them with huge sums of money.
In the outspoken legislator’s continuous unabated attacks on the investigative journalist, the Assin Central Member of Parliament, disclosed that he has sufficient evidence that Anas during one of his “extortion expeditions” duped the two Chinese illegal miners after assuring them he will offer them protection.
“Anas took monies from these Chinese people and told them he was going to offer them protection. As I speak, these guys are dead now. We should ask Anas what happened to the guys? He masterminded their killings,” Mr Agyapong alleged on Adom TV in Accra on Tuesday.
As a result, Mr Agyapong revealed that he has instructed his lawyers to lodge official complaint to the Chinese Embassy in Ghana, for the necessary action to be taken.
“I am not taking this matter lightly at all. I am going to report the incident to the Chinese Embassy for them to take Anas on,” he stressed.
Ghanaians from all walk of life, last Wednesday thronged the forecourt of Ken City Media in Madina, Accra to catch a glimpse of Mr Agyapong’s secret audio-visual recording dubbed “Who watches the watchman”.
In the video, a gentleman in glasses, who the narration claim is Anas, was captured having a discussion with a woman, whom the narrator alleged was a State Attorney.
During the discussions between the two, the gentleman was heard saying: “So at that time, they buy me with hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) because he somehow relates to me”.
According to Mr Agyapong, “Who Watches the Watchman” is a compilation of “dubious” activities of Anas Aremeyaw Anas, which, according to him, prove that the brain behind the Number 12 exposé which uncovered rot within the Ghana Football Association, is, himself, corrupt.
The gentleman in the video was also shown negotiating with two gentlemen on how to get them off the hook in a supposed gold scam.
