As I Grow NGO donates PPE to deprived schools

It could be recalled that As I Grow NGO, a none governmental Organization which is based in Larteh- Akuapem has taken upon itself to support, educate and provide a lifeline for the deprived communities and schools in these areas in the past years. Since the outbreak of the covid19 pandemic, the organisation has donated PPEs to some of the deprived communities in Ghana.

This time the Organization took an emergency step to provide mask for Schools in some deprived communities.

Most often the schools in the deprived communities are left behind in terms of educational, social amenities and infrastructural development.

The Organization visited some schools in the Akuapem North municipality specifically, Behenase R/C Basic and Atabui M/A school, where all students both Primary and Junior high schools were given masks.

Speaking to the media, the CEO of the organization, Mr. Debrah Bekoe Isaac expressed much concern about how children in the deprived communities are left behind in terms of this pandemic. He said although the government has done a lot but more need to be done on the side of the citizens that are parents, opinion leaders, stakeholders and other organizations.

He said most of the children had no masks which put them at a higher risk of the pandemic. He said As I Grow Ngo will continue to do it best to support the less privileged in our deprived communities to stay protected in this pandemic season

Speaking to the media, Mr. Samuel Larbi, the vice secretary of the Organization pleaded with individuals, stakeholders and institutions to come in to support AIG to embark on other projects that will free the deprived communities of poverty .

He pointed out that government alone cannot fight the current covid19 pandemic hence the need forAs I Grow NGO’s to support.

Mr. Samuel Amoah, who is the field team coordinator also ceased the opportunity to ask teachers and parents to help the children to always apply the accepted protocols by Ghana Health Service, since it is the best way to stay safe for now.

Mr. Mark Narh a team member of As I Grow (NGO) took the children through the various protocols which have been outlined by WHO to curb the spread of the pandemic.
