Asempanews editor receives humanitarian award

The News Editor of, Mr. Raphael kobina Nyame, has been presented with a prestigious award by (As I Grow) a non-Governmental Organization (NGO) for his immense humanitarian works, especially for the less privileged in society.

The Larteh-Akuapem based  NGO that seeks to help the less privileged in the very deprived rural communities in and outside Ghana, on Saturday, presented the award to the editor at a mini fundraising for 2021 advocacy work and donations to missionaries at Larteh.

In a citation read by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the (NGO) Mr. Isaac Debrah Bekoe, he stated “we (As I Grow) as an organization are grateful for your wonderful support to us”

We appreciate all the support you have rendered to facilitate our advocacy work over the years, in the area of your accurate, relentless and outstanding publication, more grace, blesses and good health to you and your family”

Receiving the award, the News Editor expressed his utmost gratitude to the management of the NGO, and called on other organizations to emulate the kind gesture.

According to Mr. Nyame, “I am overwhelmed with this award and least expected it since it’s my duty as a journalist to inform, educate, entertain and galvanize the people towards accelerated development”

“Helping the NGO through various publications with the aim to eliminate the problems of the less advantaged in society falls within the ambit of the core mandate of journalism” he said He further mentioned that, he did not expect anybody to award or encourage him to carry out his core mandate as a journalist, a reason he found the award very exciting and highly valued” an indication that our work is carefully mentioned” he said
