Bernard Mornah reminds NPP of ‘cedi-arresting’ promise
Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah, has issued a kind reminder to the ruling NPP to honour their promise of arresting the racing national currency, the cedi.
The outspoken PNC executive in his solidarity message at the event held at Koforidua on Saturday stated that the ‘IGP’ referring to (Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia) should hasten in his effort to arrest the fast depreciating value of the local currency.
The politician, who indicated that his party has maintained cordial ties with the NPP, also pleaded with President Akufo-Addo to help address the no-bed syndrome in hospitals across the country to save lives.
He charged members to unite for a concerted effort to move the country forward.
The theme for the 26th conference is “Building a stronger party; delivering prosperity to Ghanaians “.
But co-politician Kofi Akpaloo disagreed with Mr. Mornah, stressing that the previous government poorly handled the issue of cedi depreciation, hence the incumbent must be given credit for doing better.
Over 6,000 members of the governing New Patriotic Party, NPP, have, converge on the campus of the Koforidua Technical University in the Eastern Region to elect their national executives as the party hosts its National Delegate’s Conference, today July 7, 2018.
About 40 members of the NPP are seeking to occupy various executive positions in the party to lead the party for the next four years.
The National Delegate’s Conference is being held in pursuant to Article 10 (2) and (3) of the NPP constitution.
