CAF appoints NFF boss to replace Nyantakyi as 1st vice president
The Confederation of African Football [CAF] has appointed Nigerian Football Federation [NFF] boss Amaju Melvin Pinnick as the new 1st vice president following the resignation of former Ghana Football Association boss Kwesi Nyantakyi.
The astute lawyer and banker relinquished his roles as a member of the FIFA Executive Council, member of the FIFA Associations Committee, 1st vice president of CAF and President of Zone B of the West African Football Union (WAFU) after he was captured in the Anas Aremeyaw Anas documentary which uncovered the rot in Ghana football.
Amaju Pinnick was elected as the President of the Nigeria Football Federation in 2004.
His appointment comes amid a renewed leadership tussle within the NFF.
