Loudmouth Adomako Baafi whose appointment as acting communications director of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, prompted discussions among party followers has been fired.
Report suggests that legal practitioner and Member of Parliament for Adanta, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah would replace Mr Baafi.
It is roundly believed that Adomako Baafi’s ouster is as a result of his abrasive and uncompromising style he adopted as official spokesperson of the ruling party.
Adomako Baafi, insiders say, also developed the penchant of indulging in needless scuffles with fellow communicators whiles the elite group in the party believes his domineering posturing doesn’t represent that of a capitalist-oriented philosophy the party prides itself with.
Richard Nyamah and Kofi Agyepong, Asempanews.com gathered, would both act as deputy directors of communications.
Founder of the Danquah Institute, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko on his Facebook page admitted that the party was challenged with communication and expressed happiness over the new appointment that has been made.
“Congrats to Yaw Buabeng Asamoah for your appointment as the new Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party. Clearly, there was a huge leadership vacuum in the ruling party’s communication machinery and we are all happy to hear that Chairman Blay, General John Boadu and the team have acted accordingly”, he said in a post.
The party is expected to make an official announcement on Mr Buabeng Asamoah’s appointment later today.
