Chiefs, youth of 4 Ekumfi communities mad at paramount chief over lack of development

Angry Chiefs and residents of four Communities in the Ekumfi District which are Ekumfi Engow, Ekumfi Eyisam, Ekumfi Abontsen, and Ekumfi Dunkwa have expressed displeasure over the poor development in their towns under the reign of the Paramount Chief of Ekumfi Traditional Area Odeefuo Akyin.

According to them, the Paramount chief is responsible for all the misunderstandings and Chieftaincy disputes in Ekumfi District, accusing him of allegedly taking monies from people and swearing them in as Chiefs.

Addressing a Press Conference after a demonstration on Monday, Ebusuapnayin Yaw Endoo Ababio Anona Ebusuapnayin of Ekumfi Eyisam on behalf of the afore-mentioned Chiefs appealed to the Central Regional House of Chiefs and the National House of Chiefs to remove Odeefuo Akyin as he’s incompetent and has not much to ensure the development of the area.

He was confident that the removal of Odeefuo Akyin will pave way for development.

Meanwhile, the Youth Leader for the four Communities, Nana Kofi for his part stated that they don’t want the self-acclaimed Chief of Ekumfi Eyisam Kweku Duah and for that matter, they are calling for his removal.

He said though the accepted Chief of Ekumfi Eyisam who also doubles as Twagohen Nana Mprem Asaabo VIII has started developmental projects such as building Teachers Quarters, Building the Chief’s Palace among others in these four Communities, they have become white elephant due to Chieftaincy disputes.
