The Bono Region has so far recorded 2,050 confirmed cases of the Covid-19 disease with 78 people succumbing to the virus.
Acting Deputy Public Health Director for Bono Region, Dr Prince Quarshie has said, despite his region being classified as an emerging hotspot for Covid-19, things have been managed better than other regions.
Despite this figure, he said when it comes to health ranking in the country, Bono Region is one of the best in handling health-related issues.
Dr Quarshie made this known during the ongoing vaccination of both AstraZeneca and Johnson and johnson vaccines in his region.
The acting General Manager of Zoomlion for the Bono Region, John Otchere Oti whose outfit was providing waste management bins for the exercise explained the importance of the nationwide management of medical waste exercise spearheaded by Zoomlion Ghana Limited.
The exercise is a collaboration between the Ministry of Health, School of Hygiene, and Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
The centres within the enclave include the Sunyani Municipal Hospital vaccination centre, Regional Health Directorate vaccination centre and the Regional Hospital vaccination centre.
