Charles Taylor challenges GFA’s emphasis on education, cites Alhaji Grusah’s success story

The Ghana Football Association have been challenged once more by former Ghana Premier League legend Charles Taylor over comments made by Executive Council member Nana Oduro Sarfo.

Oduro Sarfo said it was important for former footballers and anyone interested in contributing to Ghana Football administration to first acquire the requisite education to be eligible.

“Samuel Eto’o is the FA president for Cameroon. He needed to go to school so he can better himself academically. He joined associations that are affiliated with their FA before making plans to contest. If Stephen Appiah wants to play a key role or wants to lead the GFA, he needs to have better academic knowledge and certificates,” he told Onua FM.

Meanwhile, Charles Taylor has dismissed the relevance of education in football administration while making reference to the success story of Alhaji Grusah and King Faisal.

“Why don’t they tell Alhaji Grusah to go to school? Look at the number of years he has run King Faisal. Are they telling us Alhaji acquired the sense to run football in the classroom?
Despite the lack of education, Alhaji is always chosen to be part of the administration not because of education but the experience and Wisdom he has accrued over the years,” he told Angel TV.

Alhaji is also a Black Stars management committee member.
