VGMA faces challenges since I departed, claims Patapaa
Ghanaian musician Patapaa has claimed that the organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) have been cursed due to the way they treated him in the past.
In an interview with radio presenter Andy Dosty, Patapaa expressed his lingering bitterness over losing the “Most Popular Song of the Year” award to Fancy Gadam during the 2018 edition of the awards.
Patapaa believes that his loss to Fancy Gadam was unfair and that the VGMA organizers’ actions have led to a curse being placed on them. He referred to the curse as a form of punishment for causing pain to him and others who have been treated unfairly.
He also cited an example involving veteran musician Amakye Dede, where the organizers allegedly forced him to crown someone against his wishes. Patapaa accused the VGMA organizers of cheating and charging fees to award artists who he believes are undeserving.
His statements reflect the intense emotions and controversies that often surround music awards ceremonies, as artists and fans can have strong opinions about the outcomes and fairness of the results.
