Ken Agyapong Has Become Nightmare To NDC - Tema MCE
The Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey, has taken a dig at the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying bad outcome that the NDC wished for the ruling New Patriotic Party has boomeranged on them.
In a social media write-up following the NPP’s successful completion of its presidential primary over the weekend, Hon. Amarh Ashitey said the expectation that Ken Agyapong, a powerful bankroller of the NPP, would break away and form his own party did not only fail to come true, but Mr. Agyapong has actually become a terror to the NDC.
“Ken Agyapong’s declaration that he and the NPP will now give John Mahama and the NDC a showdown is 360 degree turnaround that has really thwarted the expectations of our opponents, the NDC,” Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey wrote.
According to him, “now that the feared Ken Agyapong has turned his wrath on the NDC, the nightmare is definitely on the opposition party.”
The comment comes in the aftermath of a very peaceful presidential primary that the NPP had over the weekend.
The ruling party elected Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as its flagbearer for the 2024 elections with a landslide of more than 61% of the votes, busting a long-held perception that the NPP is an Akan party.
But this was not the only win that the ruling party achieved during the highly peaceful and highly successful presidential primary.
Ken Agyapong whom everybody was expecting to leave the party after losing the election rather praised the process as wholly free, fair and transparent, vowing that he and the NPP will now give the opposition NDC and its candidate John Mahama, a showdown in 2024.
“Everybody knows that Ken Agyapong does not speak hot air, as he has said it, he will do it, he will help the NPP in every way, financially, morally, vocally etc, to break the eight,” Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey wrote.
Consequently, he pointed out that “this is a serious nightmare for the NDC.”
The Tema MCE expressed heartfelt gratitude to Kennedy Agyapong for, “keeping our front undivided” and also praised the national executives of the party for overseeing a smooth, transparent and trusty election process.
“Meanwhile, I will like to appeal to all other members of the party who have become aggrieved one way or another during the election campaigns to let go of whatever grievance they harbour and let us forge ahead in unity,” the hardworking MCE wrote.
