Francis Doku alleges Afua Asantewaa’s “light the city project” is a scam
Media personality and entrepreneur Afua Asantewaa‘s initiative to light up cities in Accra, known as ‘Light Up The Streets,’ has come under scrutiny as Media Manager Francis Doku accuses her of using the project to secure personal funds.
In a controversial Instagram post circulating on social media, Doku expressed scepticism about Asantewaa’s intentions, asserting, “Afua Asantewaa is raising funds to help light up our cities. Very good idea. But what if after donating she forgets her Momo pin.”
Afua Asantewaa’s project aims to provide much-needed street lights to communities currently lacking them.
Speaking passionately about the initiative, she highlighted the dangers of communities residing in darkness.
Scheduled to kick off on Friday, March 1, 2024, the project has already faced criticism from Doku, who questions the integrity of Asantewaa’s fundraising efforts.
Undeterred by the controversy, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has urged individuals to contribute either street lights or cash to support the cause, providing the contact number 0244913613 for donations.
Notably, this philanthropic endeavor follows Asantewaa’s unsuccessful Guinness World Records sing-a-thon attempt, adding a layer of intrigue to the unfolding narrative surrounding her charitable pursuits.
