Sapholda Hockey League Wrap: GRA records solid win
It was ecstacy and joy for GRA, but heartbreak for University of Ghana at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Pitch, as the Salpholda Hockey League drama continued unabated.
The men's division saw a mix of intense battles and surprising outcomes.
University of Ghana struggled against GRA with 8-0 scoreline. Army secured a solid 2-0 win against Ark Men, displaying their tactical superiority. The Exchequers narrowly edged out Reformers with a 1-0 victory, highlighting their resilience. Police and Legonknights played a thrilling match resulting in a deadlock at 0-0.
The open match for week 3 in the women's division between Army Ladies and Police Ladies faced technical issues, leading to its postponement, disappointing fans who were at the pitch expecting a fierce battle. GRA Ladies asserted their dominance with a resounding 3-0 victory over Reformers Ladies.
The masters division saw Golden Sticks faltered, losing 3-0 to Citizen International, while NDK struggled against Multi Stix, falling 5-2.
In the Youth division, Einstein Hockey lost 0-1 to Tema Manhean, showcasing Tema's defensive strength. GAHA Development Girls triumphed over University of Ghana with a close 2-1 victory, while Ark Boys were humbled by Hockey is the Reason with a 0-2 defeat.
Week 3 of the 2024 Salpholda Hockey League registered 30 goals.
