Political parties are just like any other client, I can compose for any one – Nacee
Ghanaian gospel artist, Nacee, has stated that he sees no problem with producing songs for political parties.
Speaking exclusively to GhanaWeb Entertainment on May 12, he explained that he sees political parties just like any other client and would produce songs for anyone who comes to him.
“I’m a producer. I see the NDC as a client. The same way any artiste can come to my studio to record, if a political party comes to my studio to record, I cannot turn them away; I see it as a business,” he said.
Reacting to perceptions that engaging in politics or composing songs for political parties is problematic, Nacee said that he has been able to avoid any issues with his career because he avoids insults or derogatory language in his songs.
He added that other artists are free to engage in political songs but should refrain from throwing jabs at other political parties.
“If you want to belong to a political party or support a political party, you are free to do so, but what you shouldn’t do is insult anyone or any political party, and you won’t have issues,” he said.
Nacee said this after his performance at the 25th TGMA Xperience at Cape Coast.
He was joined by a host of artists, including Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, Kofi Kinaata, and Adina.
