The Black Challenge of Ghana has defied the odds to reach the semi-finals of the African Amputee Football Championship in Egypt.
Despite earlier appeals for support from the government and stakeholders falling on deaf ears, the team showcased remarkable resilience and skill, defeating Tanzania 4-1 in a thrilling quarter-final match.
Key to their victory were Yussif Yahaya and Hamza Mohammed, who both netted two goals each. Yahaya opened the scoring, setting the pace for a dominant performance. Mohammed, who was subsequently named the most valuable player of the match, also scored a brace, sealing the win and solidifying his standout status in the tournament.
