I’ve never regretted a day joining my life with Bawumia – Akufo-Addo

President Addo Dankwa AKufo-Addo has noted that he has never regretted teaming up with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia since meeting him 16 years ago.

This was after he confidently endorsed the Vice President who is also the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, during the launch of the party’s 2024 Manifesto.

Speaking at the Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) in Takoradi Sunday, August 18, 2024, the President indicated that knowing Dr. Bawumia the past 16 years has been fulfilling.

He noted that the Vice President is an embodiment of honesty who has Ghana at heart, therefore urging Ghanaians to vote for him in December.

The President noted that Dr. Bawumia is the ideal person to succeed him, stating his exceptional leadership qualities and unwavering dedication to the nation’s progress.

Akufo-Addo also praised Bawumia for his immeasurable contributions towards his administration’s achievements, highlighting the honesty, loyalty and commitment to the nation’s growth.

Unlike John Dramani Mahama, President Akufo-Addo stated that Bawumia will not disrespect Ghanaians.

“I’m in the best place to give the testimony and appeal to Ghanaians to give the stewardship of this country in the next 8 years to Dr Bawumia and his running mate NAPO. Dr Bawumia and I met 16 years ago. And I can say that there has not been one day that I have regretted joining my life to his, either in opposition or in power.

“He has been a model of honesty, he’s a man who lives and breathes Ghana. I can say he will deliver on each of the commitments. I have never had any problem with my Vice President. I have gone to bed every night securing my knowledge that my vice president stands firmly and solidly behind me. He has been the model or picture of loyalty itself.

“This is a man who has respect for the people of Ghana. This is not the man who will tell Ghanaian people that you have short memories. He’s not that type of man, he’s a man who has respect for the people of Ghana, this is not a man when his policies failed and he will say that he’s not a magician, that is not the language of Bawumia.

“We have a man who is respectful and will work days and nights to ensure that our country continues on an upward trajectory,” he stated.
