    Court battle brews over ‘Agyapadie3’

Alliance for Revolutionary Change stalwart, Hopeson Adorye, is gearing up for a legal showdown after facing a lawsuit from Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin’s secretary, Mr. Daniel Marfo Ofori-Atta, over comments regarding the contentious ‘Agyapadie’ publication.

Accused of implicating Ofori-Atta in the creation of the incendiary document, Adorye is undeterred by the hefty GH₵10 million lawsuit, viewing it as an attempt to stifle his voice and that of his party leader, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen.

Speaking after receiving the court summons, Adorye affirmed his readiness to challenge the claims with his legal team and remains unfazed by the legal action. He sees this as an opportunity to present his case firmly.

Unyielding in his stance against alleged injustice and nepotism, Adorye vowed to keep speaking out against what he perceives as attempts by a select few to control the nation’s resources to the detriment of ordinary Ghanaians.

While the lawsuit alleges defamation based on his remarks about the ‘Agyapadie’ content, Adorye has doubled down on his assertions, citing support from influential figures like Togbui Afede and former President John Mahama who echoed similar sentiments regarding the document.

The disputed comments made by Adorye on the morning show ‘Onua Maakye’ hosted by Captain Smart included references to widespread corruption schemes and monopolization of Ghana’s resources, implicating Ofori-Atta and others. In response, Ofori-Atta’s legal representative, Bright Okyere-Agyekum, vehemently denied the allegations, labeling them as baseless and harmful to his client’s reputation and that of their respective entities. In his legal claim, Ofori-Atta seeks not only financial damages but also a public apology and retraction from Adorye and Media General, along with a permanent injunction against further defamatory remarks. As the legal tug-of-war unfolds, Adorye remains steadfast in his convictions, adamant about exposing what he deems as injustices and committed to advocating for equitable governance that benefits all Ghanaians.
