By: Bernard Nyankomago Kwasi
Western Region based side Karela United was undoubtedly the happiest team after match day four of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Apart from recording their first ever win in the ongoing league in grand style, they remain one of the two teams who managed to record an away win.
Karela trekked to the Legon Sports Stadium in Accra to beat Legon Cities 2-0. Medeama also travelled away to pip Baseke Holy Stars 2-1.
Karela had dropped points in their previous three league matches consecutively. They lost at home 2-1 against Kotoko in their league opener.
Karela succumbed 1-0 to Berekum Chelsea in their subsequent league match before drawing 1-1 against Accra Lions in their third game.
Not withstanding their continous predicaments, Karela stormed the Legon Stadium gallantly to silence Legon Cities over the weekend.
The technical and playing staff heaved a great sigh of relief after their sensational glory.
"It's a good victory. I know this crucial success will pave way for more wins in the remaining games" said their head coach Jimmy Cobblah.
In other league matches Young Apostles FC beat Aduana Stars 3-2; Bechem United 1 Dreams FC 0; Nations FC 0 Hearts of Oak 0; Berekum Chelsea 1 Kotoko 1; Samartex FC 2 Vision FC 0 and Heart of Lions 0 Bibiani Gold Stars 0.
