Renowned American-Siberian musical artist and eco-advocate, Milana May, has achieved the incredible feat of swimming across Lake Bosomtwe, Ghana's largest natural lake. A Symbolic Swim
Milana's historic freedom swim, which took place on September 22, 2024, was more than just a demonstration of her endurance. It symbolized her commitment to promoting sustainable travel and environmental conservation. The swim was part of her 3-day event, "Milana May Freedom Swim," aimed at highlighting the importance of protecting Lake Bosomtwe and its surrounding ecosystems.

The chief of Duase, one of the adjoining towns of Ankaase and among the over 20 towns and settlements surrounding the lake, joined in celebrating Milana's feat. Madam Dufie, CEO of Queenxta Resort, one of the few modern facilities within the ECOTOURISM community which is yet to be completed expressed her willingness to support similar events in the future to promote ecotourism in Lake Bosotwi.
