The Black Stars of Ghana were on Thursday held to a goalless drawn game against Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium.
It was a third match in Group F of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The Black Stars had managed to pick only a point from two matches in Group F against Angola 1-0) and Niger (1-1).
They were eager to seek their first win in the ongoing qualifiers, but Sudan remained resolute and denied them victory.
Both teams were at par in terms of strength in the first half making only two shots at goal. However, defender Alexander Djiku missed a chance to put the Black Stars into the lead when his header hit the cross bar in the 4th minute.
Striker Antonne Semenyo could have also scored in the first half but he failed to utilise a golden opportunity that fell on his chest.
Back from recess skipper Mohammed Kudus and his teammates raised their game and piled incessant pressure on their opponent.
Kudus and substitute Inaki Williams couldn't hit the back of the net with some glorious chances that came their way.
The giant and courageous goalkeeper for the Sudanese side was the man of the match. He stood firm and saved some goal mouth melee to eventually earn a point for Sudan who now have four points as against two for the Black Stars.
The two countries will meet again on Tuesday for the return fixture at Benghazi, Libya.
