NPP Cannot Use Mahama To Destroy NDC - Moshake

A former Executive member of the Tema East Constituency branch of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Stephen Ashitey Adjei, has accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of trying to remote control the NDC, but vowed that the diabolic plans will never be allowed to fruit in 2024.

At a news conference in Tema over the weekend, Mr. Ashitey Adjei who is popularly called Moshake, reveals that in the NPP’s secret agenda, former President John Mahama is the point man and that what the NPP wants to do is to use him to poison the bright chances of the NDC in the next elections.

“This is not the first time; the NPP, through former President Kufuor has been using Mahama to frustrate the electoral and even governance fortunes of the NDC for a long time. However, that shenanigans will not be tolerated anymore by the NDC,” Moshake said.

According to him, “Both Mahama and the NPP will be resisted democratically and by every means permitted by law. The NPP should just know that they will no longer be permitted again, to use Mahama to destroy the NDC.”

Moshake explains that, former President Mahama is the political god son of former President Kufuor and that over the years, Kufuor has been the main influence in Mahama’s political life.

“The Kufuor/Mahama connection is through Mahama’s step mother who is an NPP loyalist,” Moshake said.

He reveals that through this link, former President Kufuor has been advising Mahama who has led the NDC since 2012, to the benefit of the NPP but to the hurt of the NDC.

“When he was president, Kufuor advised Mahama to snub former president Rawlings and this is what led to the estrangement of Rawlings from the NDC. Kufuor was also behind unpopular policies of the Mahama government, including the cancelation of allowances of Nursing and teacher trainees.”

Moshake also alleged that, “Kufuor and the NPP are the ones behind Mahama’s reluctance to leave the NDC leadership and retire from politics,” citing that, “after the 2016 election, when Ibrahim Mahama announced that John Mahama was retiring from politics he spoke his brother’s mind but Kufuor quickly advised him to recant the position and keep leading the NDC so that he can be manipulated to make the NDC unpopular.”

According to the Tema East NDC firebrand, the latest decision by Mahama to run for president again is at the urging of Kufuor. “Kufuor was the one who told Mahama not to retire so that the NDC could lose the 2020 elections because he knows that Mahama is no longer popular. The same Kufuor and the NPP are the ones who have set him up to contest again for the flagbearership in 2024. They know very well that Mahama is no longer popular and that if he runs, he will lose and so they are urging him on”

He however declares that, “but this time, they will not have their way because we are bringing Dr. Kwabena Duffuor as flagbearer. We will elect Dr. Duffuor and take the NDC out of the hands of Kufuor and the NPP. Mahama should just forget it.” Moshake concluded at a well attended news conference.
