    PruRide 2025 Launched: Pedaling Towards a Healthier, Sustainable Ghana

    Prudential Life Insurance in collaboration with the Ghana Cycling Federation has officially launched the sixth edition of the highly anticipated PruRide championship.

     This year’s event rides on the inspiring theme; “Ride not just for fitness, but for the future; let’s pedal with purpose, lead with vision, and inspire change.”

    The launch, held in Accra, emphasized the commitment of both partners to building a healthier Ghana and promoting a more sustainable future.

    Speaking at the event, Madam Jane Dornkuor Mingle, CEO of Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, highlighted the importance of cycling in enhancing overall well-being and contributing to the protection of the planet.

     “PruRide is one of those bold steps to encourage low-emission transport, active living and community connection,” she stated.

    She further explained that cycling offers multiple health benefits, including improved cardiovascular health, reduced stress, boosted mental well-being, and a stronger sense of community.

    Madam Dornkuor also used the opportunity to rally support from stakeholders, corporate bodies, communities, families, and individuals to adopt cycling as a regular lifestyle choice.

    Mr. Mohammed Shabban, Secretary General of the Ghana Cycling Federation, expressed gratitude to Prudential Life Insurance for its consistent partnership since 2014 and called on other cooperate institutions to tap into what Prudential Life Insurance is doing to help grow the sport.

    He commended the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) President, Mr. Richard Akpokavie, for attending the launch and expressed hope for a successful edition this year.

    Among the dignitaries present were Mr. Richard Akpokavie, President of the GOC; Madam Jane Dornkuor Mingle, CEO of Prudential Life Insurance Ghana; Madam Gifty Owusu, Head of Sustainability; Nana Adu Mankatta II, Board Member of the GOC and some staffs of PrudentialLifeInsurance.

    The GOC President Richard Akpokavie Esq pleading with the organisers to consider the prize money for the men to be same as the women; "I will plead with the Prudential Life Insurance to consider the winning prize for the women since they are doing the same race but their laps to encourage lots of women to participate in the sports", he said.

    The PruRide event continues to grow as a flagship initiative promoting fitness, environmental consciousness, and national unity through cycling.
