Ghana’s Female Table Tennis Team Clinches Bronze at 2025 West Africa Regional Championships
Ghana’s female table tennis team has secured a bronze medal in the Team Event at the just-ended 2025 West Africa Regional Championships held in Lagos, Nigeria.
The team, made up of Joanita Borteye, Cynthia Kwabi, and Bernice Borquay, showcased exceptional teamwork, determination, and resilience throughout the competition.
Their stellar performance has earned them qualification for the 2025 African Table Tennis Championships.
Under the guidance of Coach David Senyo Ahiaba, the Ghanaian ladies fought gallantly against strong opponents from Benin, Nigeria, and Côte d’Ivoire.
Coach Ahiaba commended the team for their performance; "the team did well and played according to strategy. However, there is more room for improvement,” he said.
He also encouraged the players to remain focused and committed;
“Qualification for the African Championships is a huge motivation for the players to keep training and working hard.”
The bronze medal is a significant achievement and a promising sign of what lies ahead for Ghana’s women in table tennis.
