Hon. Kwabena Kokofu is indecisive and remotely controlled and shouldn't be trusted - Edmund Kyei
The NPP which is a democratic believing party has set timeline for it's internal elections which begun from the Presidential Candidate election and currently conducting Polling Station Executive Elections. Aspirants for various positions have shown interest and are running a smooth campaign.
Ashanti Region, which is the heart of the party is of key interest same as other Regions. The head of the Regional party, which is headed by the Regional Chairman, I belief should be a man who can take bold decisions and should be man on his own and not indecisive and controlled.
Currently two men have shown interest in the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship position but I believe delegates should make a good decision among them.
Initially, Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah(COCA) almost runned unopposed till Hon.Henry Kwaku Kokofu joined the race few days ago by declaring his intent. I know every party member has the right to join the race but when it comes to selecting the best to lead, many factors should be considered. Kokofu, has the record of being indecisive and romotely controlled and I know this character will affect the Region badly if he is elected.
During the recent NPP Presidential primaries, Hon.Kokofu was rumored to have interest in the Presidential primaries, no official statement on the rumor being false was issued by him so it's clear it came from his office and he later didn't contest.
Few months ago, he was also in the race for the NPP General Secretary elections which he declared on many platforms which he has also declined his intention but has now declared to be in the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship race.
This indecisiveness from him is not healthy for him to lead the party in Ashanti Region since he will not be bold enough to take good and bold decisions for the party, it's clear the ruling NDC will easily make him change his mind on decisions that will benefit the NPP when he is intimidated.
I urge all delegates for the Ashanti Regional Executive elections to rally behind Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COCA), who have since day one being consistent on his decision. This shows he has a vision for the Region and we should all rally behind him.
