Disregard Ghana-UAE visa waiver; agreement not yet in force – Embassy

The United Arab Emirates embassy in Ghana has urged the public to disregard publications and messages on social media implying that Ghana passport holders can now travel visa-free to the gulf state.

A statement issued by the embassy on Monday, 9 August 2021 indicated that even though the Parliament of Ghana has ratified the Memorandum of Understanding on Mutual Exemption of Entry Visa Requirement between Ghana and the United Arab Emirates, “the processes for its implementation have not been completed”.

“Even though the agreement has been ratified by the Parliament of Ghana, The Embassy will officially communicate any changes to the current entry visa regime between Ghana and the United Arab Emirates when the agreement comes into force,” the statement added.
