Mr. Ben Ephson, the Editor of the Daily Dispatch Newspaper, is pessimistic about former Finance Minister Dr. Kwabena Duffuor’s chances of defeating former President John Dramani Mahama in the NDC flagbearer election (NDC).
Dr. Duffuor has not proclaimed his intention yet, but there are wild rumors that he is lining up to challenge the former President for the NDC’s presidential ticket in the 2024 elections.
Ben Ephson has assessed his possibilities in an interview with Starr FM on Monday morning, as his followers wait for him to come out clear on the topic.
Dr. Kwabena Duffour is unlikely to poll 20% of the vote if he runs against John Dramani Mahama in the NDC’s next flagbearer election in 2024, according to the renowned pollster.
“He [Duffuor] will have a hard time getting 20%. Remember, Mahama received 95% of the vote in 2018,” Ben Ephson stated.
Meanwhile, the Daily Dispatch Editor has ruled out the idea of Owusu Akoto Afriyie, the present Minister of Agriculture, being president.
According to Mr. Ephson, Ghanaians are unlikely to elect someone over the age of 70 as president of the country again.
“If Afriyie Akoto puts his heart into the race, I don’t think he stands a chance at 75 years old. I don’t believe Ghanaians will elect somebody over the age of 70 to rule them again. “It doesn’t appear to be the case,” Ben Ephson stated.
