Ebony Tribute Concert: It’s a shame if artistes charged to perform- M.anifest
Ghanaian rapper, M.anifest, has added his voice to the recent scuffle between late Ebony’s father and Bullet.
His comment comes after the late musician’s father allegedly released a list of artistes who were paid for performing at Ebony’s tribute concert.
The document stated that:
Edem – ¢3,000, Keche – ¢3,000, Captain Planet – ¢2,000, Coded – ¢1,000, R2bees – ¢3,000, Ras Kuku – ¢1,000, Raquel – ¢1,000, Kurl Songs – ¢1,000, Episode – ¢7,00, MCs:DKB – ¢1,000,Ogee (late Ebony’s hypeman) – ¢500, DJs: DJ Shiwawa – ¢500.
Expressing his views on the issue, the “Be My Woman” music fame said, “It would be ridiculous if anybody did receive money for this. It would be their right, but it would be so unethical. You’d have to have a certain kind of heartlessness to be benefiting from someone’s death,” he said.
“So we all have to keep ourselves in check and hold ourselves to higher standards. It is not just about sounding good in the media. So even me talking here right now, I better walk the talk.”
“We should be more circumspect when talking about things. A little bit of research is also important because we sometimes go off making allegations. Nowadays, all one needs to do is to allege something, you don’t even need proof, to subject the victim to media trial,”
“I can create a website today called Ns3mfunu.com, put a new story on, and the next thing is it’s going to be carried on all platforms and that’s one of the problems we have. We give anything credibility once it’s sensational,” he said.
