Elmina Sharks appoint Odartey Lamptey as interim coach

Ghana Premier League side, Elmina Sharks, have appointed Nii Odartey Lamptey as interim head coach of the club, effective today.

The former Ghana international takes over from Yaw Acheampong, who the club has parted ways with after last Wednesday’s defeat against Legon Cities in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The Fearsome Sharks in a statement on Friday, February 26, 2021, announced the appointment of the 46-year-old, expressing excitement of having him at the club.

Lamptey is the owner and coach of Cape Coast-based Glo-lamb Soccer Academy.

He’s expected to turn the club’s fortunes in the league around in the interim until they appoint a substantive coach.

The former Aston Villa man’s first game will be against Kumasi Asante Kotoko on February 6, 2021, at the Nduom Stadium.
