Everton opt not to appeal Phil Jagielka red card against Wolves

Everton will not appeal the red card given to Phil Jagielka during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Wolves, according to Sky sources.

The Everton captain was dismissed for a foul on Wolves striker Diogo Jotabut it is understood the club will not try to get the decision overturned and Jagielka will now serve a three-match ban.

Marco Silva will be without Jagielka for Saturday’s game against Everton, however, Sky Sports News understands Richarlison will be available despite limping off in the second half against Wolves.

t is understood he was suffering from cramp and will be in contention to make his first appearance at Goodison Park.

With Jagielka out for the next three games, Silva may call upon his new centre-backs Yerry Mina and Kurt Zouma, who arrived at the club on Deadline Day.

Everton signed Mina from Barcelona in a £28.5m deal while Kurt Zouma joined on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

Silva’s other options in the heart of defence include Mason Holgate, Tyias Browning and Matthew Pennington.
