FA Cup: Bechem United threaten to boycott Ashgold clash
Kingsley Owusu Achiaw, president of Premier League side, Bechem United has given the clearest indication that his outfit will not play in the FA Cup.
According to the astute football administrator and the business mogul, the FA Cup committee chairman who doubles as the Dream FC Executive Chairman, Kurt Okraku and some Executive Committee at the nation’s football governing body plotting against his side to be booted out of the competition in the early hence they will not honour their Round of 64 tie against AshantiGold.
“The FA Cup committee didn’t ballot. They sat and decided who plays who. They did the fixtures with malice. We are the only premier league club picked to play another premier league club,” he told Happy FM.
They should explain to us how they came by such a draw. I am the president of the club and I am saying on authority that we won’t play.
“Someone wants Bechem United out of the competition. How come Dreams FC sit home and play lower tier team whilst he pair Bechem united with another premier league side? There is no fairness”
“If they’re talking about proximity, AshantiGold and Bechem United should not be paired against each other. We should have been paired against a Division one club from the Brong Ahafo region,” he added.
