The Tamale Mayor, Idrrisu Musah has placed an indefinite ban on musical concerts in the Northern Regional capital after Fancy Gadam’s convoy was involved in an accident which led to the death of 8 persons and also left 20 others injured.
The accident which occurred about three kilometres away from the Central Business District in Tamale on Friday 29th June 2018, also left twenty others seriously wounded.
According to reports, the accident happened when a convoy of Fancy Gadam on their way to welcome Nigerian artiste, Patoranking collided with a truck leading to the trail of other vehicles ramming into the first one.
The mayor has blamed Fancy Gadam for the accident saying that the artiste should have provided adequate security.
According to him, it was irresponsible on the part of Fancy Gadam to mobilize many people without putting their security into consideration.
“We are not going to allow him to take the whole Tamale to ransom…I have spoken to him I have spoken to his managers…but [they] won’t listen. This young man’s talent is a danger to the people of Tamale.
“Why would you want to mobilise people? To make a profit? You want to use the blood of the people to make money. I have banned all musical concerts at the stadium. No musical concerts until further notice,” he said.
“Total cheat” hitmaker. Fancy Gadam is a musical sensation with massive following in Ghana, especially in the Northern Region.
