Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao rematch ‘happening’ in December
Floyd Mayweather has sensationally claimed he is set to come out of retirement for a rematch with Manny Pacquiao in December.
The pair came face to face at a concert in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday, prompting Mayweather to take to Instagram and declare he is planning yet another return to the ring.
“I’m coming back to fight Manny Pacquiao this year,” Mayweather posted.
“Another nine-figure payday on the way.”
In the videos uploaded by various witnesses, the 50-0, five division world champion can be heard telling Pacquiao he was “easy work.”
He also states: “We’re gonna take the belt [the WBA ‘regular’ title], we’re gonna get the payday and I want no shoulder excuses.”
In 2015, Floyd Mayweather comfortably outpointed Manny Pacquiao in the biggest fight in boxing history.
The pair’s highly-anticipated bout took several years to make, but ultimately left fans disappointed as Pacquiao proved no match for Mayweather and later claimed to have a serious shoulder injury which hampered his performance.
Since then, Mayweather retired, came back to fight Conor McGregor and retired once again, but now says he wants to return to the ring one more time.
