Former Minister wants Jean Mensah to stand down at EC Chair

Former Communications Minister under the John Dramani Mahama-led administration, Dr. Omane Boamah has advised the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission to resign from her position.

The Lawyer for the second respondent, Lawyer Amenuvor has told the court that his client will not be cross examined; this position has been seconded by the Lawyers for the second respondent.

But reacting to this position, Dr. Omane Boamah the ongoing case should not be about which party wins in court.

To him, her resistance of cross examination is an indication that she has lost the moral pedigree to Chair the Electoral Commission.

He said in a post on Facebook that “If I were Jean Mensah, I would have elected to testify. It should matter not to her whether NDC/NPP wins or loses.

Adding that “She has lost the moral pedigree to hold herself up as a fair EC Chair. Madam Resign! Simple!”

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has today adjourned and is expected to rule on whether the Electoral Commission’s Chairperson will be cross examined.
