The office of the A-G has made a shocking revelation that there have been withdrawals summing up to more than GHS236, 000 by relatives of recently dead pensioners.
The Auditor General, Daniel Domelevo, has therefore suggested that an official ban be placed on the allowances of deceased pensioners.
In his report, he blamed this glitch on the failure of relatives to report the passing of these deceased pensioners.
In his report, he recommended that the Treasury Officer should cooperate with the Controller and Accountant-General to trace where the withdrawals were made so as to trace relatives to refund the money.
He also hinted that the liaison can also help delete the names of recently dead pensioners to curb these irregularities.
