Chief Executive Officer of the National Identification Authority, Prof Ken Attafuah, has announced that registration of the Ghana card would commence on Monday 28, May 2018.
The CEO noted that officials and operators will be at the various government agencies to start registration of Ghanaians, “On Monday the 28th by this time, the National Identification rollout will be done. It will begin at 7 am. We will have our technicians and registration officials and operators at the Jubilee House, they will be at Parliament House, they will be at the Judiciary premises, and they will be at the Security sector institutions; The Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Prisons Service and of course the Ghana Armed Forces.”
Government promised to implement the policy to ensure that the country’s economy is formalized to boost national development.
Prof. Attafuah indicated that the appropriate documents and legal framework for the registration has been set to ensure an effective commencement of the project.
He was speaking on Citi FM in Accra on Monday.
He added that to commence the registration, prominent citizens such as former Presidents Kufuor, Mahama and Rawlings, Members of the Ghana Journalists Association, and other organizations would be done before it is opened up to the public.
