Glorious Word Power Ministries Int’l apologizes to Journalists over attacks

The Glorious Word Power Ministries International has condemned the attacks on Journalists by followers of the Head Pastor, Rev. Owusu Bempah at the Circuit Court in Accra.

A Press Statement issued by GWPMI said the attack was not sanctioned by the Church and does not support any form of violence.

“The church would like to render an unqualified apology to all affected Journalists, Media Houses, and the Ghana Journalist Association.

“We acknowledge the key role the media plays in our society and as such we pledge our full cooperation and support in ensuring that this incident does not repeat.

“We plead with the affected media organizations and journalists to kindly accept our apology.”

This comes on the heels of the calls by Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) demanding swift action against the attackers identified as followers of the embattled Man of God.

“The GJA said it welcomes the apology of the Police administration and assurance of future protection for journalists, but it holds the view that the timely gesture of the rebranded Ghana Police does not and should not absolve the offenders from tasting the biting edge of the law as articulated by Article 17(1) of the Constitution which says “no one is above the law.”
