Sefa, a Ghanaian afrobeat artiste born Sefadzi Abena Amesu has charged emerging artistes in the showbiz industry to desist from calling themselves “underground Artistes”.
“What is an underground artiste? Don’t you ever call yourself an underground performer,” She said on top Ghanaian talk show “Ghana Yenso Mu’.
In her estimation, describing oneself as an underground artistes only affects one’s psyche to remain in the doldrums whereas, audiences are expecting so much from their craft.
“When you get the chance to embark on tours abroad, you’ll perform on the same stage as big artistes like Sarkodie and the likes. So don’t look down on yourself. The fact is, not everyone will like your niche but there are also people who are crazy about what you do. So keep rubbing your talent in the face of people you’ll attract the attention of the people who love your craft,” Sefa reiterated.
